Stonechat

Stonechat has traditionally been scarce here, but this changed in 2008 when there was a record number of migrants recorded from the end of February and for the whole of March. A male of the continental race rubicola, turned up at Eakring Flash in late April and there were a further two birds in the Autumn, bringing the year's total to 22 birds. Most Spring records have come during mid-March, with late September and October, being the peak months in Autumn.
