Elachista canapennella (Hübner, 1813)
Status .....Probably under-recorded to a degree in Nottinghamshire and officially known as a Nottinghamshire moth since one was taken at MV light from Ravenshead in 2013 (McGeever, D. and McGeever, V.). There soon followed further records and it was recorded new to the Sherwood Forest NNR in April 2014, with a further record from Market Warsop the following year. The most recent record is from Bramcote in 2020.

However, there is confusion as to the first official record of this species in Nottinghamshire, as a record in the database of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, of one taken at light from Misson Carr in the very north of Nottinghamshire in 2004, seems was never submitted to the county recorder and so isn't officially recognised.
