Broad-barred White Hecatera bicolorata (Hufnagel, 1766)
Status .....Although described as being found across much of the UK, Broad-barred White seems to be uncommon in eastern parts of Nottinghamshire and indeed, most county records seem to be from suburban locations. We often record them nectaring at Valerian during the early evening and they do come to MV light. The larva is found on Hawkweeds Hieracium sp and grateful thanks go to Sandra Parkin for supplying the photographs below.
