An
interesting morning, with three Whinchats
briefly at Eakring Flash before moving off into the
pastures area, none of which were subsequently relocated
until appearing back at the southern-end of Eakring Flash
early afternoon. Two juveniles arrived at 08:00h,
followed by an adult at 08:25h. Other sightings this morning included 28 Teal flying high south-east over Eakring Flash, ten Yellow Wagtails in the pastures, plus lots of commoner warblers (including three Lesser Whitethroats) along the old hedge and at the southern-end of Eakring Flash. Two Common Buzzards were over Lound Wood, with a Little Owl and 14 Tree Sparrows at Penny Pasture Common (per Robin Brace and Tony Wardell) |

A single Wheatear was in the large, open field, adjacent Eakring Flash this morning, with three Common Buzzards high over there. |

Two Hobby were viewed distantly from Red Hill, whilst at Eakring Flash there was a single Whinchat and two Whitethroat along the old hedge. At least six Common Buzzards were in the area (per Robin Brace and Tony Wardell) | |||

Five skeins (totalling 305 birds) of Pink-footed Geese flew east south-east over Eakring Flash this morning, between 08:40 and 09:30h. This is the earliest Autumn arrival date, beating the previous record by a day. Also over there were five Egyptian Geese and in the general area, 26 Stock Dove was a good site count, whilst two Chiffchaff were around Eakring Flash (per Robin Brace and Tony Wardell) |
