| Seven Pochard
at Eakring Flash late morning, was the earliest count
here since March 2005. |

| February 25th |
| Some limited
gull movement this afternoon after the clearance of
overnight fog. Totals included 19 Black-headed Gull east
and 42 very high south-west and approximately 70 Herring
Gull flew south-east, presumably to roost in the Trent
Valley area. There was also some signs of genuine return
migration, with ten Fieldfare high north and Lapwing were
noted moving east with 45 east and 27 in fields at
Eakring Field Farm, with 130 Starling. |

| February 20th |
| Continuing
very quiet, but probably the most pleasant day of the
year to date, saw five Common Buzzards at three sites in
the area and a single Shelduck at Eakring Flash. |

| February 13th |
| Three Coot
now back at Eakring Flash, and again very quiet during a
short visit this morning. Common Buzzards included
singles at Red Hill, Eakring Field Farm and Eakring
Meadows. |

| February 11th |
| The area
remains quiet, but wildfowl on Eakring Flash provided
some interest with six Tufted Duck, drake Pochard, 13
Teal and the first Shelduck (a pair) of the year. The
first two Coot also arrived back at Eakring Flash. 68
Fieldfare were in the Lound Wood area. |

| February 7th |
| Much better
seeing conditions early morning today, allowing at least
something to be seen. A few early migrants included
single Sky Lark north and seven Linnet west and
north-west. At Eakring Flash, a female Shoveler
was an excellent year tick and the five Tufted Duck
remained. Four Common Buzzards were in the area. |

| February 6th |
| An unseen
number of Pink-footed Geese flew over
Eakring Flash and above the low cloud at 11:45h this
morning. Otherwise, the area remained extremely quiet.
