Heath Fritillary Melitaea athalia (Rottemburg, 1775)
Not recorded naturally Nottinghamshire at any time, but there has been at least one release of Heath Fritillary in the north of the county in recent years. Any further records of this nationally rare butterfly, can certainly be attributed to similar such releases. Nationally, this butterfly is presently found in the counties of Cornwall, Devon, Kent and Somerset.
