Xantholinus linearis (Olivier, 1795)
A common Rove Beetle across much of Nottinghamshire, with records coming from a range of habitats. X. linearis regularly turns up in leaf litter samples, but like so many other Staphylinidae, is impossible to correctly identify from photographs alone, as there are several other very similar species. The ones below, were both found in leaf litter samples taken from Market Warsop cemetery in early 2020.
