Scymnus schmidti (Fürsch, 1958)
A very small member of the Coccinellidae, Scymnus schmidti is a predominantly southerly species, though there are several Sherwood Forest records. Typically found on dry, sandy sites, the one photographed was one of two found at Rainworth Heath in June 2014, in an area of sparsely vegetated sandy ground.
