Melanotus castanipes (Paykull, 1800)
One of 65 UK species belonging to the Elateridae (Click Beetles) is Melanotus castanipes. This beetle is only slightly smaller than the similar M. villosus. The one pictured was found in May 2008 under loose bark in Sherwood Forest.
