Melandrya caraboides (Linnaeus, 1761) | ||
This is a widespread species found throughout much of the UK, between April and August. This is quite a large beetle, which is associated with a wide range of decaying broad leaved trees including Oak, Beech and Birch. The Sherwood Forest CP produces one or two records most years, but Melandrya caraboides remains a scarce beetle within the NNR | ||
