Hylastes ater (Fabricius, 1792)
A generally common wood-boring beetleand potential pest species of Pine. There are several records for the Sherwood NNR area, but we have only recorded it from Clipstone Old Quarter in early April 2009 and Budby South Forest in late December 2018.
