Helophorus brevipalpis (Bedel, 1881)
Helophorus beetles are nearly found near water, but as s so often the case with many beetles spending their lives in (or near) water, they often turn up at MV light traps during warm evenings. Helophorus grandis is usually found at the margins of well vegetated ponds and is a difficult species to identify from photographs, as this is a notoriously difficult group.
