Gasteruption assectator (Linnaeus, 1758)
There are several species of Gasteruption in the UK, but Gasteruption assectator and Gasteruption jaculator tend to dominate the publicised records and both occur in Nottinghamshire. Difficult to identify, they are parasites of Hylaeus Bees and can often be found around Hylaeus nest sites. This Gasteruption assectator, was found nectaring in a Nottingham garden in July 2016, close to several Hylaeus hyalinatus.
