Galerucella calmariensis (Linnaeus, 1767)
One of several very similarly coloured leaf beetles, Galerucella calmariensis is probably found at many more wetland sites, than our distribution map would indicate. We have found it to be very common on Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) growing at Warsop Main Pit Top, but there are also records from Attenborough NR (Sexton, T.) and Nottingham Trent University's Brackenhurst Campus (Heeney, W.).
