Dermestes undulatus
Belonging to the Dermestidae family, this Dermestes undulatus was found on carrion at Clipstone Old Quarter, part of the Birklands West and Ollerton Corner SSSI which comprises part of the Sherwood Forest NNR. It was found in April 2009 and represents the first traceable record for Sherwood Forest. This is an attractively marked beetle, covered in fine scales and with an overall bluish appearance, with most of the underside being cream/white. Length of this individual was 9mm.
