Demetrias imperialis (Germar, 1824)
This small, Nationally notable B Ground Beetle, was found over-wintering tucked within the stems of Bulrush at Attenborough NR in February 2015, by reserve warden Tim Sexton. Demetrias imperialis is a characteristic beetle of reed beds, but is scarce in the UK, mainly with a south-east distribution. Current information suggests that this is the first Nottinghamshire record.
