Curculio venosus (Gravenhorst, 1807)
One of a range of similarly coloured weevils, Curculio venosus was found fairly regularly when using a sweep net on the lower branches of Oaks at Sherwood Forest and several adults were even attracted to MV light on one occasion. It is a fairly large weevil, with females measuring around 7mm.
