Cercyon melanocephalus (Linnaeus, 1758)
A common beetle of dung, frequenting all habitats where this occurs. C. melanocephalus is a very small species, measuring around 2.5-3mm in length. The one in the lower left photograph was found at Tug Bridge Farm near Eakring in mid-March 2009, with the other from Sherwood Forest CP in October 2008..
