Cercyon lateralis (Marsham, 1802)
A fairly common beetle of dung, but difficult to catch and even more difficult to get to photograph, through it's active nature. C. lateralis is a very small species, measuring around 2.5 - 3mm in length. The one in the photographs was found at Sherwood Forest CP in August 2009.
