Anthonomus pedicularius (Linnaeus, 1758)
This stunningly coloured weevil is also one of the smaller species. Measuring around 4mm, this species can be found by searching the foliage of Hawthorn, but is best sought-after by using a sweep net or beating tray. The ones pictured, were found in Sherwood Forest CP during July 2008.
