Amara similata (Gyllenhal, 1810)
A common ground beetle (Carabidae), frequenting most habitats which includes gardens. There are several other similarly coloured species, which are a difficult group to identifiy. The one in the photographs below, was found at Warsop Main Pit Top in April 2011.
