Amara convexior (Stephens, 1828)
A common ground beetle (Carabidae), frequenting dry habitats with sparse vegetation. There are several other similarly coloured species, which are a difficult group to identifiy. The ones in the photographs below, were found on Budby Common in March 2009 and at Sherwood Forest CP in April 2010. The Budby record represented a new species for the Sherwood Forest NNR.
