Microplana terrestris (Müller OF, 1773
This is another small Flatworm, known from both Clumber Park and Budby South Forest. It is native to the UK and considered our most widespread and common species, and is not regarded as being harmful to earthworms or other invertebrates. Usually found under logs and other debris etc, the colour varies from dark grey, through to brown, but much may depend on the lighting.

Microplana terrestris
was only very recently recorded in Nottinghamshire, from Budby South Forest in May 2023 by Adrian Dutton and there have been follow-up records from two locations in Clumber Park, by Nick and Samantha Brownley in February 2024. If specifically looked for, this Flatworm should ultimately prove to be more common across Nottinghamshire.
