Stenus comma (LeConte, 1863)
Presumably, this is a fairly widespread Rove Beetle across Nottinghamshire. Stenus comma is one of several species with distinctive orange spots on the elytra, so identification is best achieved by dissection. We found two of these under rubbish, left after a small area of water dried up at the former Warsop Sand Quarry in September 2013.
