Stenus cicindeloides (Schaller, 1783)
Presumably a common Rove Beetle, Stenus cicindeloidess is just one of numerous similar species, a factor often quite typical of the large family of Staphylinidae. This is a small species measuring around 5.0mm. The one pictured was found under loose bark at Nettleworth Manor, near Mansfield Woodhouse in late February 2009.
