Pyllobius oblongus (Linnaeus, 1758)
The one Phyllobius which is not green. There are only two modern records of Phyllobius oblongus we know of. The first of these was recorded from Dyscarr Wood in 1985 (Ely, B.) and the example below, which was swept from foliage at Attenborough NR in May 2018 by Tim Sexton. Our continued thanks go to Tim for allowing us to use his image to illustrate the species here.
