Philonthus decorus (Gravenhorst, 1802)
A common species of Rove Beetle and fairly large in size (15mm) These were photographed in Sherwood Forest during October 2008 and more recently, from Market Warsop Cemetery (upper photographs) in early March 2020. There are many Philonthus Rove Beetles, so identification of most is not easy and virtually impossible from photographs alone.
