Otiorhynchus rugosostriatus (Goeze, 1777)
Sometimes referred to as the Rough Strawberry Root Weevil, Otiorhynchus rugosostriatus is regarded as a pest species. The larvae do most damage, by eating the roots of cultivated Strawberry. It has a sparse, but widespread distribution across the southern half of the UK and two of these were a surprise find on the wall of Bassetlaw Hospital at Worksop in October 2012.
