Harpalus tardus (Panzer, 1796)
One of several similar species, which are difficult to separate from photographs. Around 11mm in length, Harpalus tardus this under recorded Carabid is found in a variety of habitats and does occur in gardens. We have few records on the distribution map, but have recorded it from the former Sherwood Forest Farm Park near Market Warsop, where it was found to be quite common and most recently from an Edwinstowe garden.
