Dyschirius politus (Dejean, 1825)
A small, predatory Ground Beetle of subterranean habits. Easily mistaken at a glance for one of the Bembidion Ground Beetles, Dyschirius politus has a longer, more slender abdomen. They prey on species of Bledius Rove Beetles and records are few from Nottinghamshire. This one was found on a sandy area of land at Vexation Lane near Edwinstowe in May 2013. Length 4.3mm.
