Dorytomus melanophthalmus (Paykull, 1792)
A scarce weevil in Nottinghamshire, although this should not be totally surprising, as Dorytomus melanaophthalmus has a rather patchy UK distribution. The three Nottinghamshire records we are aware of, are all from Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust reserves, including the individual below, which was beaten from Willow at Attenborough NR by Tim Sexton. Our thanks go to Tim, who provided us with his photographs to illustrate the species here.
