Cerylon ferrugineum (Stephens, 1830)
This is a minute beetle, measuring no more than around 2mm and belonging to the Cerylonidae family. The one pictured was one of several found under the tight bark of a large fallen Oak limb in Sherwood Forest in November 2008.
