Cercyon unipunctatus (Linnaeus, 1758)
This tiny Cercyon unipunctatus was found in horse dung at Eakring Flash in early April 2011. Most Cercyon species are small, but Cercyon unipunctatus measures little more than 2mm. These are not the best of photographs, but with an active beetle and in the field, show the characteristic black mark on the elytra well enough.
