Carabus granulatus (Linnaeus, 1758)
One of our largest and most impressive Ground Beetles, Carabus granulatus is something of a Trent Valley specialist in Nottinghamshire and is usually found fairly close to water. All of the county's most recent records we know of, have come from sites along the River Trent, but it has been recorded from along the River Idle at Misson, in the very north of the county.
