Black-banded Spider Wasp Anoplius viaticus (Linnaeus, 1758)
Generally a common Spider Hunting Wasp of heathland areas in Nottinghamshire, but very fast, hardly ever still and a very difficult subject to photograph. This Anoplius viaticus was found warming up on a sunny May morning at a bare, sandy site Vexation Lane near Edwinstowe, but we have recorded it at sites such as Walesby Wood and Budby South Forest.
