| Ampedus quercicola is one of several brightly coloured click beetles found in Nottinghamshire and is probably restricted to the Sherwood Forest area, where it is the most regularly recorded of all the red and black Ampedus species. Both A. quercicola and A. cardinalis are very difficult to tell apart. | ||
