Urophora stylata (Fabricius, 1775)
Another well marked and seemingly common Tephritid fly, found resting on Creeping Thistle at Clipstone Old Quarter in late May and Sherwood Forest CP in June 2011. Many Tephritid flies are identifiable by wing pattern, but these do vary across individuals of the same species. These were the first records for the Sherwood Forest NNR.
