Tipula confusa (van der Wulp, 1883)
A very common and widespread Crane Fly, often found on house walls and on fences during the late Summer and Autumn months. There are similar species, so identification from photographs is not always gauranteed, but Tipula confusa is the most likely species in suburban areas of Nottinghamshire.
