Tephritis
hyoscyami (Linnaeus, 1758) ![]() |

Another of the Tephritid flies with characteristic wing markings, although care has to be taken when identifying. The individual photographed, was one of several adults (along with a number of Tephritis formosa) found by beating the old flowers of Gorse growing on Warsop Main Pit Top during January 2019. It is probably under-recorded in Nottinghamshire, but we know of just a single other record, when found during an invertebrate survey of Sherwood Heath in 2006 (Godfrey, A.). | ||
