Tephritis hyoscyami (Linnaeus, 1758)
Another of the Tephritid flies with characteristic wing markings, although care has to be taken when identifying. The individual photographed, was one of several adults (along with a number of Tephritis formosa) found by beating the old flowers of Gorse growing on Warsop Main Pit Top during January 2019. It is probably under-recorded in Nottinghamshire, but we currently know of just a handful of other records.
