Stictopleurus abutilon (Rossi, 1790)
Very similar to the more commonly recorded Stictopleurus punctatonervosus, with both species being fairly recent colonisers of the UK and subsequently, Nottinghamshire. The individual found flying round various Thistles in a field at Lound Wood, Eakring in May 2026 (Pendleton, T.A.), seems to be only the county's second record, following an earlier 2023 record from Ruddington (Smith, M.). The two species, need careful separation to confirm identification.
