Sitophilus granarius (Linnaeus, 1758)
This very small weevil is a considerable pest of stored grain products and is more often known as the Grain Weevil. It is common in places where such products are stored or packaged and can be found in houses. We found hundreds of these weevils in bird food that had been left unopened for many months at a house in Market Warsop. Length only around 2 - 3.5mm, depending on the sex of adults, with females generally larger than males.
