Perapion violaceum (Kirby, 1808)
A tiny blue weevil, measuring little more than 3mm, but which can be found quite commonly on Dock leaves. There are similar species, so identification can be very difficult. This adult was found at Eakring Meadows in May 2009, but we have also recorded it from Sherwood Forest CP and numerous other sites.
