Nephrotoma flavescens (Linnaeus, 1758)
This well marked Crane Fly is one of the so called Tiger Crane Flies, through its combination of yellow and black markings. There are numerous species, all very similarly marked and difficult to identify correctly. There are very few Nottinghamshire records of most Crane Flies, due largely to a lack of regular recording of the NNR's Diptera.
