Neocoenorrhinus interpuctatus (Stephens, 1831)
This small weevil appears black until given closer scrutiny, when a metallic blue colouration is evident. Neocoenorrhinus interpunctatus is found on Oak, with the one photographed being one of a pair which were found at Sherwood Forest CP in June 2010. There are similar species, so identification is always quite difficult.
