Nebrioporus elegans (Panzer, 1794)
A small water beetle, this Nebrioporus elegans was found in shallow water at Attenborough NR in July 2012. This is a well marked species, but there are several others that are similarly marked and identification is difficult. Although water beetles are obviously an under-recorded group, Nebrioporus elegans seems widespread across the UK.
