Macrodema micropterum (Curtis, 1836)
This tiny ground bug (Lygaeidae) was found in numbers around stands of heather on Sherwood Heath in mid-April 2011. Despite it's 3-4mm length, it was still surprising to find that this marked the first record for the Sherwood Forest NNR.
