Lasiorhynchites cavifrons
This beautifully coloured beetle, represents the first Sherwood Forest record since around the turn of the last century (W.E. Ryles). It was found in a moribund state, on grass at Sherwood Forest CP in May 2009. There are two or three similarly coloured species, making ID quite difficult. Lasiorhynchites cavifrons belongs to the Rhynchitidae family and currently has Nb status in the UK.
