Lasiorhynchites cavifrons (Gyllenhal, 1833)
This beautifully coloured beetle, represented the first Sherwood Forest record since around the turn of the last century (W.E. Ryles) at the time after being found in a moribund state at Sherwood Forest CP in May 2009. The upper four photographs show a second adult found on Hawthorn at Sherwood Forest CP in May 2012. There are two or three similarly coloured species, making ID quite difficult.
