Hypera venusta (Fabricius, 1781)
One of several similarly marked/coloured Hypera Weevils, this Hypera venusta was recorded from an area containing much Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) at Attenborough NR by reserve manager Tim Sexton in June 2016. There seem to be no other modern records. Our thanks go to Tim Sexton, for kindly supplying us with these photographs.
