Helina impuncta
This is presumably, a common and widespread species. As with many flies, there are a whole range of similar species and identification from photographs of many, are virtually impossible. This Helina impuncta, was found at the base of an Oak in Sherwood Forest CP, on a very cold November day in 2010.
