Haliplus fluviatilis (Aubé, 1836
Our knowledge of the Nottinghamshire distribution of this small beetle, is almost entirely based on the magnificent recording efforts of Bob Merritt a couple of decades ago. Common and widespread across the county, Haliplus fluviatilis should be present in most of the county's water bodies. As with all our  Haliplidae, identification can only be seriously attempted by having a specimen under the microscope.
